Holy Sh*t we need to plan a wedding!

So you're sporting a brand spanking new sparkly thing on your left ring finger huh?

Congratulations!

Have you got THAT question yet? You know the one...

"Have you set a date yet?"

My suggestion would be, don't set a date until you've worked out what is most important to you both. Whether it's making sure family can attend, hosting it at a venue you've ALWAYS wanted or being able to book that incredible photographer who's images you've been drooling over for years, dreaming of the day when you could book them for your own wedding.

Make a list of the big ticket items that mean the most to you. It might look something like this:

  • Photographer

  • Videographer

  • Celebrant

  • Venue

  • Florist

  • Band

  • then everything else will fall into place around this

This order is just a suggestion, but these are the things that book out EARLY and I mean like 18 months to 2 years early, especially in these times and if you want your pick of vendors, I suggest sitting down with a good strong cup of tea and working out what you want & what your budget is. If you can make your selected vendors work by the date you want, fabulous, go ahead and book them in! If you can't make it work and you really want THAT vendor, see if your big ticket vendors have availability at a later date that works within your budget, so you have more time to save, or see where you can save on other things, less expensive doesn't always mean cheap, you just need to be smart about how you spend your hard earned dollar dollar bills.
